Amo

Build a real connection.

Amo is your connection coach: a rehearsal buddy for real-life connection that understands the story between you and others over time—helping you see what’s happening, communicate clearly, and feel confident about your next step.

See how it feels

AI helps you relate better. You do the relating.

More clarity. More connection.

WHY NOW

Always connected.
Rarely together.

  • 1 in 5

U.S. adults felt lonely for much of the previous day. For young men, it’s 1 in 4.

    Gallup, 2024 · 2025
  • ~70%

less time young people spend with friends than in 2003, and federal data shows it still falling in 2025.

  • 80%

of women on dating apps say they’re burned out. Meeting people has never been easier. Connecting hasn’t.

AI so far

Used as a substitute, AI pulls us further apart.

In an OpenAI and MIT Media Lab study, the heaviest daily users of a general-purpose chatbot tended to report more loneliness, more dependence on the chatbot and less time with other people.

AI used well

Used as a coach, AI helps people connect better.

In a randomized study of 968 people, those who practiced hard conversations with an AI coach got measurably better at showing empathy: 22% improved reliably, versus 3% with no coaching. They didn’t copy the AI. They found their own words.

Human connection is the point.
AI is the tool that gets you there, never the substitute.

Bring the story.

Add conversations, screenshots, notes, and important moments. Amo keeps the context together.

02

Find your perspective.

See the evidence, the possibilities, and what matters most to say, in your own words.

Take it into real life.

Take the advice back into real life. Then reflect on what actually happened.

AND OVER TIME

See your own patterns, not just theirs.

Amo helps you reflect on your conversations and notice your connection style: how you show up, what you avoid, and what helps you feel close. Understanding your patterns is how communication gets better for good.

  • How you read a slow reply
  • What you do when conflict starts
  • How directly you ask for what you want
  • What helps you feel secure

21 minof reflection

Couples who spent three 7-minute sessions reflecting on their disagreements from a neutral perspective stopped the decline in marital satisfaction seen in the comparison group over the following year.

THE STORY MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

One screenshot isn’t
the whole story.

The same moment can look very different when you know what came before.

+ One question

TodayShe hasn’t replied since yesterday.

You ask

“Is she losing interest?”

One moment in isolation.

  1. Three weeks agoShe mentioned an unusually busy stretch at work.
  2. Last SaturdayShe suggested another date and confirmed the plan.

The same moment, with the story behind it.

Same question. Amo has more of the story.

It doesn’t read minds.
And it shouldn’t pretend to.

Amo separates evidence from interpretation instead of turning every slow reply into a theory.

WHY NOT JUST ASK A CHATBOT?

General-purpose AI does everything.
Amo does one thing well.

Big, all-purpose models are built to write code, plan trips and summarize spreadsheets. Amo is built for the conversations that matter most.

Built by women. Shaped by women.

The people shaping Amo’s judgment are expert evaluators, primarily women, so its sense of what a good message, a healthy boundary or a fair read looks like comes from lived experience, not an averaged-out internet.

02

Small models. One focus.

Instead of one giant model that does everything, Amo uses small models trained specifically on human connection and communication: reading tone, naming uncertainty, and helping you say what you mean.

OUR DESIGN PRINCIPLE

Skills you keep.
Not words you copy.

Amo is built to help you get better at connecting, not to do the connecting for you.

The research behind it

Feeling empathy and expressing it aren’t the same skill.

In a randomized study of 968 people, participants felt empathic but often didn’t show it in what they wrote. How empathic people rated themselves barely predicted how well they actually communicated.

The fix was practice with feedback. People coached by AI between conversations improved by about one standard deviation, and 22% improved reliably, versus 3% without coaching. They rarely copied the coach’s phrasing. Their responses stayed their own.

  • Skill transfer over substitution. Success means you communicate better next time, even without Amo.
  • Understand first, then practice. Amo explains what matters in a moment, then lets you practice saying it.
  • Your words, always. Amo doesn’t write messages for you. People feel less heard when they learn a supportive message came from AI, so the words should be yours.

Here’s what matters in your reply:

  1. Acknowledge her week. She told you work has been intense.
  2. Say it directly: you were looking forward to seeing her.
  3. Ask what timing would actually work for her.

Try writing it in your own words, and I’ll give you feedback.
